Installing an engine swap wiring harness adapter from Condor Speed Shop is straightforward, thanks to our plug-and-play design. Below are the steps for a few of the more common BMW engine swaps:

M50/S50 Swap Installation:

1. Attach the engine harness and install the DME in its original location in the glovebox.
2. Connect the Condor Harness Adapter to the main round connector on the NEW engine harness near the fusebox.
3. Connect the other end of the harness adapter to the OEM chassis fusebox connector.

M52TU/M54/S54 Swap Installation:

1. Attach the engine harness and install the DME in the original location.
2. Install the adapter harness starting at the DME, if included, run the drive-by-wire, diagnostic port, and sport button wiring to their respective locations.
3. Connect the other end of the harness adapter to the main round connector to the chassis fusebox.

N52/N54 Swap Installation:

1. Attach the engine harness and install the DME in the original location.
2. Install the adapter harness starting at the DME. Run all wiring connections for drive-by-wire, diagnostic port, and CAS connector to their respective locations.
3. Connect the other end of the harness adapter to the main round connector to the chassis fusebox.

What do I need for an M52TU, M54, S54, M62, M62TU, S62 swap?

All of these engines (M52TU, M54, S54, M62, M62TU, S62) will need their specific Engine harness, DME, and matching transmission/o2 harness.  They will need the complete harness combination (main engine harness, transmission/o2 harness, and ignition coil harness).

Will the M54 Swap harness for e30 allow for A/C operation?

You should be able to use your original E30 wiring. However, if you experience stalling when coming to a stop while the A/C is on, then you will need to use an additional A/C module. We can offer these modules. Send us a message for more info about these modules.

Will the M54 Swap harness for e36 allow for A/C operation?

For the larger harnesses (M52tu, M54, S54, M62tu, & S62), you will need to use an additional A/C module. These controllers will allow the A/C to function normally. We can offer these modules. Send us a message for more info about these modules.

Will the S54 swap harness for E36 retain use of the following: Original Cluster, Speedometer, OBDII port, AC, Cruise, and Check engine light?

The following will not function: cruise control, check engine light, and the fuel economy gauge. The rest of the cluster will function like normal. A/C can be kept if using our extra A/C module. Send us a message for more info about these modules.
