At Condor Speed Shop, we've developed a collection of steering components that enhance both feel and function, ensuring your BMW delivers the driving experience you deserve. Our steering solutions include three distinct categories, each designed to address specific performance needs:
Whether you're upgrading your BMW for the track or as a daily driver, Condor Speed Shop has the perfect solution for your needs.
The power steering delete kit represents Condor's first breakthrough in steering innovation, and it remains one of our most sought-after performance upgrades. This pioneering product emerged from our passion for BMW E30 and the desire to create a more connected driving experience. Our power steering delete kits deliver multiple performance benefits:
The result is a more engaging and responsive driving experience that brings you closer to the road.
The limitations of classic E30 steering racks become apparent when compared to more modern E36, E46 & Z3 racks. Our steering rack swap kits bridge this generation gap, bringing contemporary performance to your E30. This comprehensive solution addresses one of the most common complaints about E30s: their slow steering ratio.
We've thoroughly tested these kits on both street and track to ensure they deliver the perfect balance of precision and reliability. Your E30 will maintain its character while gaining the sharp, responsive steering of a modern performance car.
We've developed a two-stage approach to steering shaft upgrades that caters to different performance needs.
Stage 1 - For Street/Track: Features an aluminum coupler that provides an affordable yet significant upgrade from factory rubber components, perfect for daily drivers or track junkies seeking improved feedback.
Stage 2 - For the Track: Full steering shaft replacement upgrade that provides a significant improvement from the OEM factory rubber components. Custom-engineered U-joint solutions designed for the extreme precision and control required on-track.
Multiple Configurations: Available in a variety of options for exact fitment specifications.Manufacturer’s Note: E30 owners, we'll need specific details about your vehicle's configuration - including airbag equipment, rack type, and drive orientation - to ensure you receive a shaft that fits.
In the competitive world of BMW performance parts, Condor Speed Shop stands apart through our unwavering commitment to quality and precision.
Our team's deep understanding of BMW chassis dynamics and steering systems ensures that every product we offer not only meets but exceeds the expectations of demanding enthusiasts.
Q. Will the type of steering shaft I get be the same for all E30 BMWs?
A: No. To produce the right steering shaft for your E30 we will need to know the year, whether it was manufactured with an airbag or not, and whether the BMW is a left-hand drive USDM model, right-hand drive EU import, or Australian right-hand drive import.
Q. Will the E36 Steering Shaft Conversion Kit fit RHD models?
A. Yes, we can confirm that it will fit all RHD models.
Q. Will Your Steering Shaft fit my Imported E30?
A. Many overseas imports had different spline counts on the upper steering shaft. We ask that customers measure the upper spline diameter and count the splines on the shaft. We have a large variety of u-joints and will match one to the provided specs.
Q. Do you make a steering shaft for the E30 325ix?
A. Unfortunately, we do not.
Q. Will removing power steering make my car harder to steer at low speeds?
A. Yes, you will notice increased steering effort at parking lot speeds. However, once the car is moving, the steering effort becomes quite manageable, and you'll benefit from improved road feel and feedback.
Q. Do I need any special tools to install the power steering delete kit?
A. While most of the installation can be done with standard metric tools, we recommend having a torque wrench to ensure proper installation. Detailed installation instructions are included with each kit.
Q. Can I install these steering components myself?
A. While our products are designed for straightforward installation, steering components are critical safety items. If you're not confident in your mechanical abilities, we recommend having a professional mechanic perform the installation.
