What is the difference between Rolled and Stepped rim lips.

Rolled Lip
A single step rolled contour rim is a front-mount rim contour that offers a rolled lip outer rim-half. Usually made from spun aluminum, the step lip alone offers substantial strength but combined with the rolled lip, offers more enhanced hoop strength. Rolled lips are said to have "triple" lip strength. This is "newer" technology and gives the appearance of a larger wheel. It also adds a small amount of additional weight to the rim.

Stepped Lip
A single step "stepped" contour rim offers the look of a traditional older style outer lip. This spun aluminum outer lip has one or more raised edges (steps) on the outer lip of the wheel barrel. The stepped lip was and still is a popular choice among racers, drifters and car builders.
